MADE CLEAN THROUGH CHRIST
Senior Living Ministries

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit” — 1 Peter 3:18

A museum of history was having problems with patrons touching the valuable and rare items displayed in its exhibits. So the curator decided one day to place “Do Not Touch” signs near every item. Despite the signs, patrons were still touching and soiling the priceless furniture and art.

So one day, a janitor at the museum had the idea to replace the “Do Not Touch” signs with signs that read, “Caution: Wash Hands After Touching.” Once the new signs were placed in the exhibits, no one touched the museum displays.

People will typically avoid things they believe to be contaminated, even if it’s only in their mind. Most would prefer to eat off of a dirty plate than a clean floor. Why is that? Because we have segmented in our minds items we consider to be “clean” from items that are “unclean.”

Apart from Christ, every single person born falls into the category of unclean. They are descendants of Adam, and because of that, they have inherited an uncleanliness that is repulsive to God. Yet in Christ, you can be made clean again and gain acceptance from God into eternal life.

Christ made clean that which was unclean—the righteous for the unrighteous. So accept His free gift of eternal life and tell others they can be made clean as well!

PRAYER CHALLENGE

Thank God that in Christ, you’re made clean again by placing your faith in Him for the forgiveness of your sins!
