Friday – July 25^th

You have and are being divinely blessed in order to be a blessing. The promise given to Abraham also holds good for you, too – ‘you shall be a blessing’ – Genesis 12: 4. He was not to stagnate or dry up and rot, no, he was to be a stream of goodness not only to his generation but those to come. He was to leave an abiding legacy of blessing so that others would be enlarged and enriched and also cause the inheritance to be added to. The curse of sin has been removed from you and all that is associated with it, and you are to experience both the inflow and outflow of my favour. Today you need to pass on to others all around you my grace and goodness and see the consequences of such in them. Do not languish in fear, doubt, and negativism but receive at my hand those choice divine bounties so that they can be forwarded on to the people within your contact and communion. Your family, friends and neighbours, yes, even your enemies, can be the recipients of favours that will wholly transform their thinking about life, me and you. Let today mark a turning point not only for you but countless others who will be significantly invaded and touched by my blessing.

July 25^th

STUBBORNNESS – Isaiah 48

This is the charge that the Lord brings against His own people. He calls on them to listen to what He has to say about their nature and it is not very complimentary. In all His dealings with them over a long stretch of time He had observed this streak within their beings. Throughout the centuries He had spoken and encouraged them to hearken to His directions but they had continually wanted to do their own thing. He says in v4 “I know how stubborn and obstinate you are. Your necks are as unbending as iron. You are as hardheaded as bronze.” There was a spiritual resistance in them that rebelled against His desires and will for their highest good.

The reason why He speaks plainly and bluntly is to show them what they really are so that they will repent and amend their ways. It was now time to face up to themselves and see how guilty they were of this charge and to be completely altered in their relationship with Him. The time for refinement had come where this inbred and consistent evil is dealt with once and for all. No longer should they go making promises and oaths they had no intention of keeping. If they got rid of this malignant and cancerous evil then the future would be full of great prospects.

Examination of the spiritual life reveals that this is a wickedness that still seeks to gain room and advantage. Samuel the prophet shows how serious this sin is when confronting king Saul. He proclaimed: “For rebellion is the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry” – 1 Samuel 15: 23. It can put on a mere show of obedience but in point of fact is classified as obstinacy of an awful kind. Every child of God must seek to develop a submissive and responsive spirit and action to the Lord in everything.  In your loving obedience lies your divine happiness.

Saturday - May 24^th  

There is a tremendous need for your faith to grow and be demonstrated in a greater way so that you experience much more from Me. Faith is that quality that I love to see birthed and released because it expresses a confidence not only in my ability but in my generosity, too. It gives me enormous pleasure to minister to those who truly trust Me and the promises of my Word. So as you learn to exploit your trust in Me, know that you will not be disappointed but greatly rewarded. Today I look for a further declaration and evidence of this in you and as you are determined in your spirit to manifest it, so you will be justified in remarkable ways. This is a day of my outstanding grace, favour and goodness and you should be excited at the prospects of my blessing and intervention in your life and affairs. You will have testimony to my exceeding kindness as you switch on to Me in everything.

May 24^th    

VITAL CORRECTION - Psalm 94

Having affirmed the truth that God will ultimately deal with the wicked for their sins  vv1-11, the psalmist then makes the declaration: “Happy are those whom you discipline, Lord, and those you teach from your law” – v12. There are those who do not want to be named among the wilful transgressors but have a healthy desire to live obediently according to divine laws. It is to be recognized that doing what is good and right is a wise and delightful procedure of life. It is also needful to know the loving correction of God when mistakes and errors are made. It is far better to be straightened up by Him than to go on doing those things that only lead to harm.

It has to be understood the reasons why the Lord seeks to guide and correct. He is purely motivated in all He does and this is so with regard to discipline. The ultimate welfare and blessedness of those being corrected are always a chief concern. As far as God is concerned, He wants all those who are prepared to be governed to reach their full potential for good in this life and that they will finish up satisfied and without regrets. Divine discipline is a grooming for greater character and vocation.

Do not be envious at all over the wicked in their seeming progress and prosperity. The day of divine judgment is ahead for them. Concentrate now on the fact that God’s pleasure is that you will be refined through His word and discipline so that you will produce a life and work that will stand careful scrutiny and yield the highest attainments possible. Allow Him to school you in the spiritual and moral principles that will build your person and ministry for time and eternity.

Thursday – April 17^th   

The faith principle is one of the things that must be birthed and formed in you so that you will learn to trust Me and my Word in an ever-increasing manner. As you learn to believe and place your confidence in my precepts and promises they will cause you to grow and advance in the way I have determined for you. Always know that ‘without faith and faithfulness’ it is impossible to please Me. It is the quality that I respond to and always seek to nurture it because of what it yields in my children. You can move from faith to faith. Although it be small at the first yet it can grow to vast proportions and lead you into a life of immense possibilities and fruitfulness. As you read my Word diligently by my Holy Spirit it will generate a divine confidence that will cause you to trust in the midst of challenging circumstances. You will not be overwhelmed by whatever may be faced of a negative factor but they will be divinely dealt with and answered in a supernatural fashion.

CONFIDENCE IN PRAYER – Psalm 57

David had developed a wonderful confidence in God. He knew that when he was in real difficulty who to turn to and that He would step into work on his behalf. He could say with assurance in v7 “My heart is confident in you, O God.” Throughout the past years and experiences the Lord had created and nurtured this conviction with- in him so that when he was really up against it there was One that would adequately deal with the crisis. His confidence in God had grown in God through many experiences of His intervention and so could and would trust Him for much more.

He appeared to be in straits here as he is being chased and surrounded by enemies that sought his destruction. The psalm was composed when he was on the run from Saul and his men and he required divine interventions. In the threatened situation he wrote and said, “I  cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfil His purpose for me” – v2. It was to be a period when he would be put under intense trial and pressure but the Lord would more than deal with all that was planned against him. As he prayed he believed that the answer would be forthcoming and that the purpose of God would be outworked in and through it all.

Let your confidence grow in the Lord and in His Word today. Trust Him to move into those situations you are called to face that require His intervention. Remember, He allows things to happen of a critical nature for the purpose of enriching your life with greater faith in Him. The greater the bonding with Him when things are extremely difficult, the more you will discover both His immense love and ability, so a testimony of real worth will emerge in your life.
