A Daily Prophetic Word and Meditation by Rev. E. Anderson

Rev. E. Anderson

This is a daily prophetic word which is purposed to encourage you as you face this day with the Lord. He, above all loves to communicate with His people and servants and all must learn to hear His voice and take note of what He has to say. Christ said: ‘my sheep know my voice’ – John 10: 4. He speaks through His written word the Bible, God’s Holy Word, and you must read it often to hear and know what God has to declare. By His Holy Spirit He also brings a personal prophetic and inspired word to the mind and heart which confirms the written Word. Know that He is with you to bring to pass His perfect plan for your life. Listen to what He has to say and fulfil all His will and you will both know and grow in the things of God.

The faith principle is one of the things that must be birthed and formed in you so that you will learn to trust Me and my Word in an ever-increasing manner. As you learn to believe and place your confidence in my precepts and promises they will cause you to grow and advance in the way I have determined for you. Always know that ‘without faith and faithfulness’ it is impossible to please Me. It is the quality that I respond to and always seek to nurture it because of what it yields in my children. You can move from faith to faith. Although it be small at the first yet it can grow to vast proportions and lead you into a life of immense possibilities and fruitfulness. As you read my Word diligently by my Holy Spirit it will generate a divine confidence that will cause you to trust in the midst of challenging circumstances. You will not be overwhelmed by whatever may be faced of a negative factor but they will be divinely dealt with and answered in a supernatural fashion.

CONFIDENCE IN PRAYER – Psalm 57

David had developed a wonderful confidence in God. He knew that when he was in real difficulty who to turn to and that He would step into work on his behalf. He could say with assurance in v7 “My heart is confident in you, O God.” Throughout the past years and experiences the Lord had created and nurtured this conviction with- in him so that when he was really up against it there was One that would adequately deal with the crisis. His confidence in God had grown in God through many experiences of His intervention and so could and would trust Him for much more.

He appeared to be in straits here as he is being chased and surrounded by enemies that sought his destruction. The psalm was composed when he was on the run from Saul and his men and he required divine interventions. In the threatened situation he wrote and said, “I  cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfil His purpose for me” – v2. It was to be a period when he would be put under intense trial and pressure but the Lord would more than deal with all that was planned against him. As he prayed he believed that the answer would be forthcoming and that the purpose of God would be outworked in and through it all.

Let your confidence grow in the Lord and in His Word today. Trust Him to move into those situations you are called to face that require His intervention. Remember, He allows things to happen of a critical nature for the purpose of enriching your life with greater faith in Him. The greater the bonding with Him when things are extremely difficult, the more you will discover both His immense love and ability, so a testimony of real worth will emerge in your life.

THE BOUNDARIES THING

By Rev. David Hind

When Samuel was young he was an escapologist. Without warning he would disappear and this led to some interesting moments. Once we found him in a barrel of water up to his neck and another time in a bog up to his waist. Then there was the time he disappeared after Sunday lunch to go and spend his 20p pocket money on a ride on the electric horse outside the local Post Office. He was four and the whole family searched with growing anxiety until he was met returning across the village green. Without doubt, God preserved his life on a number of occasions.

At home we had the most fun. He could escape from the garden in a moment and eventually we had to make the whole of our back garden “Samuel proof”. It may have looked a bit excessive but for us it created a place of safety. The boundaries brought security.

Psalm 16 is a fantastic passage in the Bible.

·   We can find refuge in the protection of God (v.1)

·       We can know security in our relationship with God (v.2)

·       We can receive inspiration from the people of God (v.3)

 ·   We can show gratitude for the provision of God (v.5) We can live fulfilled and safe in the plan of God   (v.5)

Then we come to verse 6:

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”

So the boundary thing…

Boundaries release our potential

God’s plans are the best for us. We can reach our potential and live a fulfilled, successful, dynamic life as we live within His boundaries. We may not have everything we want, but He will ensure we have everything we need.

Boundaries bring security

They provide protection and keep predators out. All of us are more secure when we know the boundaries. When we instigate accountability and openness, because of our desire to live in God’s boundaries, we position ourselves in a secure place.

Boundaries bring discipline

With boundaries, we learn to live within our limits and be structured and efficient. Boundaries can feel restrictive, but in the long run they liberate us. Grace tells us we are loved and forgiven and cannot earn God’s mercy. Boundaries tell us that we choose not to take this grace for granted.

Boundaries bring joy

They help us to live an ordered, non-chaotic life in which we can know peace and fulfillment. This is God’s plan.

The Bible says as we live within His boundaries we will know  . . . . . a delightful inheritance.”

HELP US NOTCH UP KINDNESS

CHURCHES ARE BEING URGED TO go into their communities and carry out random acts of kindness as part of the HopeO8 initiative.

The organisers behind AoG-backed HopeO8 want to clock up a million hours of kindness next month to highlight the campaign.

Roy Crowne, one of the founders of HopeO8, said, ‘Many churches have decided to give blood, and one has said it wants its congregation to give 100 pints. It seems a very popular idea!

‘We decided that we should go and carry out these acts over one weekend, but our aim is to see a million acts of kindness during the month of May.

‘The idea is that we take the church on to the streets and do things for other people so they can see that Christians are people who care.

As well as blood donations, churches are coming up with a host of ideas as part of the ‘A Million Hours of Kindness’ campaign.

One church in Arbroath has been handing out chocolates, while another church in the UK will be working with Age Concern. At York Minster, young people have decided they want to make people smile, while another church has told HopeO8 organisers they plan to volunteer their services to their local Citizens Advice Bureau.

A HopeO8 spokesman said, ‘We’ve been told about a lot of ways in which churches are carrying out acts of kindness. Earlier this year a Scottish church give away 320 packs of “tablet” candy with a Celtic prayer on it to people in their town.

‘What we want to do is encourage every AoG church to consider carrying out acts of kindness in their community, and then let us know about it by filling in the form on www.hope08.com so we can keep a record of how close we are to the target.’

Roy Crowne added, ‘By helping ‘A Million Hours of Kindness”, churches will be highlighting the Christian message by helping others in word and deed. That’s how Jesus led his ministry.

Organisers are planning on a special reception for the best and most imaginative projects.

Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams is expected to attend the ceremony. He said, ‘I thank Cod for the inspiration that has driven HopeC8 and wish every blessing to all involved.’

HopeO8 was set up to help churches of all denominations work together under its banner to promote community spirit and to spread the Christian message.
